Work at Home
I thought I would share an amusing moment in this fiasco.
I just received an email from Adobe to renew my "work at home" license
I work for the Education Department where the software is supplied under license to teachers... Thumbs up !!
I also work at home, believe it or not as most teacher do, outside of school hours, so I paid Adobe for a 'work at home licence'. (Discounted .. Great.. thank you adobe)
A few months ago Adobe changed their licensing model which has combined my work license with my additionally paid 'work at home license', as the email address is the same. (Adobe Policy)
There are many teachers in the same boat as I am over the same issue. I witnessed one teacher on the phone for 3 hrs with no resolve but at least he got his daily dose of Adobe doesn't care and now has pure and unadulterated hatred for Adobe support.
Enough of my ramblings, here is the rub for me. In the middle of a class, I had to open a pdf document.. Not that hard for most people I hear you say, but Adobe says... "You must sign in" or you shall not pass. FFS a pdf ???? After 2 minutes of the usual enter this enter that bla bla bla, it then needed the SMS code sent to my phone.
Guess what.. Surprise Surprise I don't take my phone into a lesson nor does most teachers out of respect. So after finding another acrobat reader alternative , I could finally see the students work... Yippeee Well done Adobe, you have taken a considerable learning time off my class of students with your new licensing model but I won't speak on behalf of other students & teachers you have failed with your lack of forethought and policy.
Getting back to your original email about renewing my work at home license. I will think about that after you call me to refund the $$ I have paid for a service you did not provide but as the other staff has said... Don't hold your breath... Adobe does not give a F$%k about education.
Looking forward to your call (You have my mobile number as you texted me with the code )
