You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CC” with this version of OS X.

I just downloaded Adobe After Effects CC onto my Mac, that runs Mac OS X 10.9.2 Upon opening After Effects I get an error message that says "You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CC” with this version of OS X. You have "Adobe After Effects CC" 12.0." This is highly frustrating because I haven't had this issue with Photoshop CS6, so I don't understand why After Effects wouldn't work. Any advice?
