When I start the program first there is a window where I shall login, than there is a second window overlaying it
"There is an update" with a button "Install now". I am not able to click the button and I have to kill the program.

I neither can update the program nor start it.

I'm running the latest Mac OS Version and Elements 2025.

I managed to open another Elements tool and login in there, which helped

Which macOS?

Most Adobe apps work on these systems, no more than 2 versions back:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit) versions 24H2, 23H2; Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2;
  • MacOS 15 (Sequoia), 14.7 (Sonoma), 13.6.7 (Ventura).

Hi @exciting_aura3634,

Thank you for reaching out.

Based on your message, it appears you're encountering an issue where the Photoshop Elements (or Premiere Elements) application on your Mac prompts for an update, but the "Install Now" button is unresponsive, preventing both login and update processes.

Please confirm if this is the issue you're experiencing. In the meantime, we recommend trying the following steps to resolve it:

  1. Disable background applications
Temporarily disable any antivirus, firewall, or third-party security software that may interfere with the update process.
Also ensure that no other operating system or application updates are running in the background.

  2. Reset application preferences
    To reset Premiere Elements preferences:
Hold down Command + Shift + Option immediately while launching the application.
This will prompt you to reset preferences — confirm by selecting Yes.

  3. Restart your Mac
A simple restart can help clear temporary glitches or locked processes that may be affecting application behavior.

  4. Manually check for updates
Once the application launches, go to Help > Updates within the application menu and check for available updates manually.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Regards,
^AN
