Account - Library of projects deleted

Hi, my school updated account details with Adobe last week renewing the licence and my entire library of projects has disappeared.  I login with the same credentials as ever but there's nothing there.  I'm being told it's because of the 'federated nature of  the accounts here' and that Adobe can't do anything about the lost work.  You'll probably need a whole bunch of information but I'd like some reassurance that somewhere my work has been backed-up and that, through an identified route,it can be reclaimed - help!!
