Accounts and RAM

Two issues I'm facing. But background on our company first.

Schools and residential homes for special needs children, we're talking anything form ADHD to sexual abuse cases. As such, we strictly ban the use of cloud services to safeguard the childrens information.

Issue 1)

The older Adobe allowed us to use the Exceptions Deployer to not need any cloud accounts. But the new one we were forced to migrate to is forcing the use of cloud accounts. Is there any way around this?

While accounts for staff aren't an issue, it becomes an issue with the children as they often can't remember their own domain password, and having to resync Adobe with Active Directory everytime will be a never ending job!

I came accross Feature Restriced Licencing which would get rid of the cloud aspect. Adobe support sent me to our vendor, but our vendor says this is government only?

Issue 2)

Creative Cloud Desktop eating up RAM when not using a local account.  So the software works fine on a local admin account. But the moment we use a domain user/admin account, it increases the RAM usage till the PC has none left and then crashes.

I've worked around this slightly by disabling Creative Cloud from start up, but thats not a permanent fix.

Ideally we just want to remove creative cloud all together if at all possible. If not, we need a way to control the Adobe ID accounts. We don't want users to be able to remove it and sign in their own personal account which would then bypass our safeguarding restrictions.

Correct answer

After recent issues with Adobe Reader after an update. We have located the issue which was an error in the proxy.pac file. This solved the reader issue, and has also solved the CC issue at the same time.

Hello Andrew,

Issue 1: The shared device license also does not have cloud storage or any online services. The students can use this license and with a federated ID which will block them to access cloud storage.

Issue 2: Kindly give read/write permission to the Adobe folders under program files x86, program file, and program data and check if your issue gets resolve when using a local account. If not, I would recommend contacting the support team by creating a case from the admin console so that they can check the settings and troubleshoot it.
