Acrobat and Windows Terminal Services

I am running Windows Server 2003 and cannot print pdf's when using Terminal Services without locking up the machine.

I have found a "known problem" that sugests leaving the pc locally logged on as Administrator - yes this works but is not feasible as users need to be logged onto the machine.

Does anyone know of a fix for this situation to print via terminal server a pdf ??

Thanks
Ben

I am also running Server 2003 and purchased the 6.0 Acrobat since I was told I'd need that to work properly. While I can PRINT out PDFs, so far, I can not CREATE a PDF either by PRINTING to the AdobePDF printer OR trying to Convert to a PDF from within Word2003.

We are using Thin Clients, Office2003 and Server2003.

Any suggestions?

They already do, but in order to collate pdf's into the company folders (especially for backup's etc), each file used must be downloaded (a very large MYOB company file), run locally, printed as pdf, then emailed/copied into a Server based folder. Very time consuming you can imagine.

The annoying thing is that I have an old Laptop I could leave logged onto the Server as Administrator (via LAN connection) all the time in order to run with the Adobe "workaround", but the fix doesn't seem to work if the Administrator is not locally logged onto the machine - i.e. for a small business such as mine to use Adobe you must have a pc functioning as a Server logged on solely as Administrator, doesn't seem sensible.

Ian,

I specifically upgraded from v5 to v6 because I was told by Adobe this would fix the problem which it hasnt. Rather than complain to the company about the sub-par advice being handed out by its staff or it falsely directing customers to upgrade when not necessary, I have come to this forum for assistance.

Users need to be able to print when logged onto the Server from remote locations.....I don't see how that affects licensing. It is the same as if the users were logged in over a regular LAN, except that one of my users works externally to the Servers physical location, and therefore must connect via Terminal Services.

Thank you for your constructive assistance though.

Why should Adobe 'fix' a 'problem' that potentially allows companies to breach their licencing and therefore reduce revenue?
