Acrobat Customization Wizard DC: Unable to Submit Changes, MSI Set Value failed, Error Code = 259

Question

I am trying to configure Acrobat Professional DC for distribution via SCCM 2012 R2. I have added our serial number, granted offline exception and Disabled online services. When attempting to save the MSI I received this error message:

Acrobat Customization Wizard DC

Unable to Submit Changes,

MSI Set Value failed, Error Code = 259.

This post is now 2 months old and I'm still looking for help with this.

I had this issue as I was using someone else's SCCM Adobe Acrobat Reader DC package and just updating it with the latest MSP file. The issue I ran into was that I did not copy over all the files necessary to save the Acrobat Customization Wizard.

- AcroRead.msi

- setup.ini

- MakingCustomChanges.mst (custom transform file)

- AcroRdrDCUpd1501020060.msp (latest update file)

- Data1.cab (without this file I was getting the Error Code 259)
