Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and Creative cloud

This is happening in our environment as well. Our Reader installations are being "upgraded/overwritten" by Acrobat DC. Thing is according to log entry it's like it thinks its updating Reader but it's just using the wrong package: 

This happened to a few of my users the other day. Now they are getting a strange issue on opening DC where it continually tries to sign them in with a popup blank white page that pops up over and over again. They can catch one of the pop ups and exit the cycle finally, but have to do this every time they open the app.
