Question

Adobe Creative Cloud Licenses in Vietnam

I am the Tech Director for United Nations International School of Hanoi. Adobe in Asia Pac has decided that UNIS Hanoi will have to pay USD 122,600 annually for 500 licenses. We are currently paying USD 12,500 annually for 500 licenses.

According to the Adobe website if UNIS Hanoi was a US based school we would pay USD 2500 for the same block of 500 licenses.

I can't believe that anyone in Adobe Corporate believes that the United Nations International School of Hanoi should have to incur a nearly 900% increase in the cost of licenses in order to continue using your product to educate our students.

Does anyone in corporate Adobe have an explanation for this behavior?

Regards,

Looking at the school's website, this school does offer and is accredited by IBO for students in Grade 11/12. It is non-profit and doesn’t offer instruction to students above 12th grade. I think that this school does qualify for K-12 pricing for your region, however, you'll need to check with the Sales team. (We've already alerted the team internally)

You can take look at Creative Cloud for education | Educational institutions and talk to your account manager or reseller. Or contact seamktgadobe.com.

Hi

I have tried talking to resellers and account managers and they tell me that Adobe is refusing to give UNIS Hanoi the $25 /license/year price.

They say that Adobe will only authorize $203.88 per year per license for UNIS Hanoi.

I am sure you agree that an 800% increase in cost for an educational institution is absurd. This will force us to tell students and the parent community about Adobe and the reasons for us moving away from Adobe.

Thank you.

At this point in time no one in Adobe is willing to give me rationale for a nearly 900% increase in the Adobe Creative Cloud license cost for United Nations International School of Hanoi BYOD students. Clearly Adobe is not willing to support student learning in Hanoi, Vietnam.

We have no say in Adobe's pricing policy.   That comes from the corporate level.  You need to reach out directly to your Adobe Teams & Enterprise rep.   Perhaps they can explain exactly what has changed.  I'm guessing  this has many factors to it including regional taxation laws, currency fluctuations and much more....

Hi Edward,

I understand your frustration given that extremely sharp increase. However, if you want an explanation, I'm afraid your best bet is to contact Adobe directly. This is a user-driven forum and, while some Adobe staff do monitor and participate, there is no guarantee someone who is able to address your concern will see this discussion.

With the number of licenses you're purchasing, I'm guessing you have an enterprise account. If so, reach out to  Enterprise Support.

I hope you're able to find the answers you seek!

Thank you.

Adobe has ONLY told me that we can not be considered enterprise.

Once again thank you for your help.

Cheers,
