Adobe Customization Wizard X

How do I enter websites in Preferences > Enhanced Security when using the Adobe X Customization Wizard? I need to enter host names of some of our Intranet websites that are not https://. If I enter the host names, then save them using the msi and mst, They seem to disappear when I bring the msi and mst back into the Customization Wizard. What am I doing wrong?

After saving the msi and generating an mst, these fields are all blank.

What am I missing?

Hi Sandy, can you explain what you did in order to have something in the window? I'm trying to install it with the parameters that I want but it's still blank. I changed every website from No to Yes, generated the mst and executed it with "msiexec /i "AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi" TRANSFORMS="ReaderX.mst" /qn" but the little screen enhanced security is still empty :'(

The sites still do not show up, but there must be a file or registry key that is created for each of the hosts - don't quote me on this, since I never got an answer from Adobe. If you look at the image above there are many "no' entries. I think I entered the host names and changed all of the "no" options to "yes". It has been so long since I did this, that I do not remember exactly. Maybe this will prompt someone from Adobe to actually answer this question.

Also, once all of the host locations were entered and I flipped all of the "no" options to "yes", I clicked on set above for "Trusted Identities". This may or may not have done anything.Wish I could remember more. I don't have the Customization Wizard installed right now. If I get a chance to install it and play with the settings again, I will post back here.

Hi,

I haven't had a chance to see if there are Wizard bugs for this feature, but here's a tip that will make it not matter: Because the trust framework has been evolving so rapidly, the feature in the latest version of Reader is more rich than the Wizard is able to configure. What I would do is configure an installed version of the product via the UI and then use the Wizard's Registry drag and drop feature to set up the installer the way you want. So:

  1. Go to Prefs > Security (Enhanced).
  2. Set all your privileged locations, enable enhanced security, decide whether to trust Win OS (IE) trust zones, etc. Note that most IT folks already manage site trust via IE, so one checkbox may get you what you need.
  3. Open the Wizard and go to the Registry feature.
  4. Drag the registry folder called cTrustManager to the target computer.

Now you've copied your settings to the installer.

BTW, 10.1.2 is going out in a few days and contains many improvements you may want. For example, trusting Win OS sites now only includes "Trusted Sites." With 10.1.2, it also includes "Local Intranet" zones. There are many other improvements as well.

Untill I figure out how to make this change in teh Customization Wizard, we cannot push out Adobe Reader X. It literally blocks many of our intranet websites which makes no sense at all.

Anyone?

I finally realized that you have to flip at least one of the options, in my case all of them, to Yes before it will save the settings..

I fthey all display as no, there is technically no change, so the host(s) are not saved.

It has been great talking to myself.
