Adobe Font licencing for third-party applications

Hi Team,

I have a question about font licencing on the Adobe for Enterprise plan. The answer isn't explicit in the terms document.

Are Adobe fonts licenced for use in the creation of documents in third party applications? Eg, can an adobe font be used in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, or Davinci Resolve, for example? Or must they only be used within the Adobe suite of applications? (Obvsiouly, not looking to embed or redistribute fonts--only use them in the creating of documents and media.)

Thanks!

    Hi @anthoven,

Thanks for reaching out. Upon checking, I was unable to find any active license associated with the Adobe ID you used to post this query.

Regarding your question on Adobe Fonts licensing for third-party applications: Adobe Fonts activated via Creative Cloud can be used in third-party desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, for creating documents and media. Redistribution of font files or self-hosting is not allowed; embedding is permitted only in PDFs for viewing/printing in accordance with Adobe Fonts terms.

For collaboration, recipients must have the same fonts activated on their systems; otherwise, the app will substitute fonts. Enterprise plans allow desktop activation for licensed users, but distributing fonts outside Adobe apps or packaging them with software requires a separate license from the font foundry or an authorized reseller.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.
