Adobe Prtk for teams not working to activate CC 2019

To whom it may concern,

Earlier on, I would manage to activate Adobe CC 2018 apps using the adobe_prtk and provfile.xml without fail. Since CC 2019 version released I have been unable to activate the license with the same command. I am receiving return code 21 whenever I attempt it now. Has something changed between CC 2018 and 2019 version? I have tried to activate by renaming SLcache and SLstore folder and still receiving the error code.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Nicoles

Creative Cloud 2019 applications are named user only. The Adobe Provisioning Toolkit is used to apply serialised or device licenses and so cannot be used with these products.

I spoke to Adobe support via chat and was informed that the Creative Cloud for Teams Subscription using device licensing will be available by the end of the year for Adobe CC 2019, in the meantime they need to continue to use CC 2018.

I did not get any updates regarding whether CC for teams can use device licensing or if it still has not come into effect. Am I able to activate Adobe CC 2019 for teams with device licensing?

Hi,

Adobe will be releasing Shared Device Licensing early this year - this will work with CC2019 apps as well as whatever services the user has entitlement to. Further information can be found here - Creative Cloud in Lab Environments - A Shared Device Licensing Update

Alister,

Thanks for the helpful information. We have been using device licensing for CC 2018, as opposed to named licensing. Earlier on, I used the creative cloud packager application to create packages and license the product.  I will see how to implement named licensing instead for the packages created in the admin console and check the results.

Serial numbers were intended for multi-user devices only, and are completely going away. Adobe is coming up with an alternate solution fro multi-user devices but is not releasing it, or any information about it until January 2019. There have been pretty clear notifications to adobe admins about this.. If you want to use 2019 apps your only choice will be named accounts until January. 2018 applications will however continue to work until 2020 with the serial number.
