Question

app v deployment adobe 12 standard

Has anyone been able to create an App V deployment for Adobe 12 Standard? We can successfully create a package, but when an individual user opens it, they are prompted to login and activate. We have a site license for our organization, and during the package process, we had a tech login and activate. Our hope was that each user would not be prompted once the app was published?

Is App V deployment supported for Adobe 12 Standard?

Thanks,

TG

Could you please help us better understand your issue by answering below questions –

  1. You mentioned A12 standard, I am presuming you either using Acrobat DC or Acrobat 2015. Please confirm.
  2. Which AppV version are you using, with Acrobat DC/2015 we are supporting AppV 5.0
  3. You tried to license and activate the product by doing First Run Task, i.e while creating the package on sequencer you provided the SN and tried licensing the product. If this is the case, this behavior is currently not supported. To license and activate product you need to follow the below guidelines post sequencing -
    • In the Package scripts, prov.xml is needed along with adobe_prtk.exe (APTEE Tool*), to Volume Serialize Acrobat on the client machine.
    • Generate the XML File (prov.xml) on the sequencer machine using adobe_prtk.exe, running the APTEE Command from an elevated command prompt. Registration suppress is optional argument to be given here if admin wishes to suppress registration.

adobe_prtk.exe --generate --tool=VolumeSerialize --leid=<LEID> --serial=<Volume Serial No> [--regsuppress=ss]

     4. Have you added the mentioned files as part of Post sequencing steps -

    1. Publish.ps1
    2. Unpublish.ps1
    3. prov.xml
    4. adobe_prtk.exe
    5. dispatchtable.xml

Let us know if you still face the problem after following the steps per the guidelines. Please refer to guideline for steps to create a package via AppV 5.0.

For Reader @ http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/appvreaderDC.html

*adobe_prtk.exe (Available as part of APTEE 9.0 as a download from the Licensing Website)

Thanks for the info. I will be trying these steps in the next week and let you know the results. I have one question though. I don't understand what Adobe DC refers to. We are installing Adobe 12 Standard, so don't understand what the DC or 2015 means.

There is no version 12. The new version is "DC", and that version has two tracks: Continuous and Classic.
