AUSST woes

I don't understand why we yet to have the option to download Windows files only. Organizations need to have that option as there are many that are Windows only. Because there isn't, we have to spend several days downloading the updates and chasing deleting the mac files to keep the server from bloating.

Same with language. We should be able to choose the languages we want to download.

I'm aware we can choose which products to download but this isn't very useful in many environments. We want staff to be able to use any of the products available.

Also, exactly what does --cleanup do? It just cleaned up 70 files after running a fresh install, yet the Photoshop folder still has files for versions going back to 22.0 when the latest is 27.1. Isn't the point of the cleanup to delete all old versions to prevent bloat? If the apps get updated as soon as the CC app is opened, why do we need to have these extremely old versions still get downloaded?

So what is the other option? Maintain a filter list of every single app and version and update it each month? I don't understand why using AUSST is this difficult and we do not have better options, especially for the cost of CC.

Hi @Tech12345,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. I understand the challenges you’re facing with AUSST, particularly around storage management, operating system filtering, language downloads, and the cleanup process. I’d like to clarify the current expected behavior and the options available.

At this time, AUSST does not support filtering updates by operating system. It will always download both Windows and macOS payloads, regardless of the environment. This is the expected behavior. AUSST also does not allow you to pre-select only the languages you want to download; all supported languages for the chosen products are downloaded. However, you can still choose which products and updates you want to include. More information is available here:

Regarding your question about the cleanup command: running --cleanup only removed 70 files, and the Photoshop folder still contains versions going back to 22.0 even though the current version is 27.1. The cleanup option removes downloaded products from the AUSST server based on the last filter used with the incremental option. To perform a proper cleanup, it must be run as a separate command from the incremental sync.

Could you please confirm whether you are using filterProducts as part of the incremental option? This can impact what is removed during cleanup. Additional details can be found here:

Thank you again for your feedback. We will share it with the product teams for further consideration in future improvements.
