Bootstrapper vs AIPs

What are the advantages/disadvantages of deploying Acrobat via the bootstrapper method or AIP method? I just posted recently about how we are having problems updating a lot of our clients because they were deployed using AIP. After finding out limitations of deploying quarterly updates, I think it may be better to use the bootstrapper method. Is there a better method of deploying Acrobat? Our goal is to be able to keep all the installations up-to-date, and it doesn't seem like we can do that with AIPs. Thanks!
