Question

CC Packager creates package but nothing gets installed

Used CCP to create just a base package of Creative Cloud... nothing else.  Package gets created and it will install but there are no shortcuts, no programs and features listing, files are missing.  A quick compare of this .msi to our previous version .msi and they are almost identical.  I tried creating on W7 & W10; tried installing to W7 & W10; used AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool; tried 32bit and 64bit.  All created packages have the same results.

Any ideas?  Or, how to make a licensed installer with the downloaded Creative Cloud (ACCCx4_8_0_421.zip).

Thank you

I manually changed foldername ASU_5.0 to ASU2 and installation finishes successfully? Is it a ADOBE bug???

Definitely an Adobe bug..  I came to the same conclusion on my own based on what the log files were telling me and renamed ASU_5.0 to ASU2 .. After doing so, install worked fine.

Note that if I were to run the setup.exe interactively, the install works fine..  But if I try to run with a script from command line, it failed unless I renamed that folder to ASU2.

Trying everything as this process does not work.  Thinking an older version of CCP will create the package.

Unfortunately CCP is updated before the preferences are available.

    Hi,

The packages are being created successfully so I don't think using a different version of Packager would make any difference unfortunately.

What method are you using to deploy?

For example are you running the MSI with Admin Rights?

    For example

Running the commands below with elevated privileges (e.g. running the command prompt as admin)

To silently install all contents of the “Build” directory, execute the setup.exeas follows:setup.exe--silent

Alternatively, to silently install using MSI files, install Acrobat first, then the remaining packages:

    cd Build\Setup\APRO15.0\Adobe Acrobat\

    msiexec/i AcroPro.msi/qn

    cd ..\..\ ..msiexec/i {package name}.msi /L*V %TEMP%\packageinstall.log

Three different computer; two different OS's (W7 & W10); two different profiles.  Software not installed fully yet log files says it is.

Is there a way to run CC Packager without it updating?

Is there a way to run CC Packager without it updating? There is a preference that will stop updating, but it is still likely to update the first time you run a fresh install. What are you trying to achieve by stopping the update?

We are not doing named-user deployments.

here is the steps taken for every CC package we create.  please remember that this is the base CC only

    1. Accept License

    2. Select “Creative Cloud for Enterprise”

    3. sign in

    4. Click “Create Package”

      a. Uncheck “Creative Cloud Desktop Application”,

      b. provide a package name,

      c. Save To location.

      d. Choose 64-bit Package,

    5. Click “Package Configurations: Default settings (CHANGE)”.

      a. Enable: “Adobe update Manager is disabled (IT manages update distribution)”

      b. Disable: “Enable remote update manager deployment”.

      c. Click “SAVE” and then “NEXT” to start building your package.

    6. Enter Serial Number

    7. Click “Next” to continue.

    8. Choose “English (North America)”

    9. Next

    Hi,

What method are you using to deploy?

Does using the setup.exe make a difference? This will deploy everything in the package. Acrobat has its own MSI file which has to be run separately.

Check the log files to see what they say.
