CC Suite install error - Windows 10

I work as an IT employee for a department in the university. We get our installers not directly from our Adobe account, but from a university-wide download service.

Anyway,

Every. single. time. that we want to install a new version of the CreativeCloud Suite, we run into errors. Every time. It's exhausting, and I've spent the entire work day on this one issue now. I am hoping to be provided with a sure-fire solution......that will work every single time we do a full suite uninstall/reinstall. It already takes ages to uninstall and install each Adobe program in and of itself, not to mention running into these pathetic errors!!!

Why do I run into the WORST, most unintuitive, vague error experiences with some of the biggest software companies?

Here's the gist of what I've done:

  • Individually uninstall each Adobe program
  • Attempt Adobe AfterEffects CC 2018 install
  • Run the latest official Adobe CreativeCloud Cleaner Tool
  • Attempt Adobe AfterEffects CC 2018 install
    • Installation fails.
  • Run CCleaner (NOT the CreativeCloud Cleaner) registry cleaner
  • Attempt Adobe AfterEffects CC 2018 install
    • Installation fails.
  • Restart PC, etc....

I've run the CreativeCloud Cleaner two additional times on top of that, I've restarted more times than indicated, and I've run registry cleaners more times than indicated.

I also tried downloading the desktop app from here in preparation to download the apps from the CreativeCloud app, and after having to step through yet ANOTHER obnoxious Adobe Suite hell (solution here), I was able to log in and bring up my available software list. But, as I said earlier, activation and software downloads are done through the university's software distribution, and not through our Adobe login's account. So I did not have the desired CC 2018 apps available for download in my CreativeCloud app under my Adobe login.

Funnily enough, Adobe Acrobat DC installs without errors.

Remaining possible solutions to try:

  • Uninstall Sophos Antivirus - I'm having major problems uninstalling this software, as I always have. A program I hate even more than the Adobe Suite. I've successfully uninstalled it before through an escapade of file/folder deletion in Safe Mode, but would like to prevent having to figure it out again if possible.
  • Try install in safe mode - I'm working on this computer remotely, as it's located in a separate building. I can't reboot into Safe Mode remotely. I've tried Safe Mode Adobe Suite installation without success before on a different computer in a similar situation, but if there is a high chance that it will help, I am willing to go to the building and try.

Hopefully one of you can sift through those log files and help. I would very much appreciate it.

I assume the "Software Center" in question is the Software Center application that's bundled with System Center Configuration Manager.

Unfortunately, Configuration Manager is not a part of our setup. It would cause much more headache to try to set that up than to just reinstall the OS (not to mention I probably don't have access to some of the server-side administrative privileges I might need to set it up), so we ended up wiping the hard drive and reinstalling Windows.

The solution sounds promising, though. Hopefully it helps others

in that senario, the best fix is to open Microsoft software center and uninstall | reinstall from there... this just resets the script and that should give them a new count to software like Fuse

p.s, most schools run their own network proxy and the software can't talk to Adobe like it would for people in the real world... thats the price you pay for running a system that is designed for the last century!
