Change apps in Creative Cloud to 64-bit

Creative Cloud does not give any options to install 64-bit programs on my computer (even though I run a 64-bit system). Acrobat (not Reader) in particular I’d like to have as a 64-bit, but there’s no option to change it to that.

How do I go about changing this? Are all apps available in both 32- and 64-bit architecture or not?

All my current CC apps are 64-bit. Have you uninstalled Acrobat completely and reinstalled?

    Hi @cartographer29

    Thank you for reaching out.

Most current Creative Cloud applications are distributed as 64-bit versions by default, so you will not see a manual option in the Creative Cloud Desktop app to choose between 32-bit and 64-bit during installation. If Acrobat was installed earlier, it may still be running the 32-bit build, which requires reinstalling the application to switch architectures.

You can follow the steps below to install the 64-bit version of Acrobat:

    Uninstall the current Acrobat installation

Go to Control Panel → Programs and Features (Windows).

Locate Adobe Acrobat, select it, and click Uninstall.

    Restart your computer

This helps ensure that all related services and files are fully cleared.

Install the latest version of Acrobat

Open the Creative Cloud Desktop app and install Acrobat again,
    or

Download the latest installer from Adobe’s official Acrobat download page. Check this doc: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/download-64-bit-installer.html

    Verify the architecture after installation

    Open Acrobat.

Go to Help → About Acrobat.

The window will indicate whether the application is running as 64-bit.

If your system is running a 64-bit operating system, the latest installer will automatically install the 64-bit version, as this is now the standard release.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

It seems that was the issue. Acrobat 32-bit pre-existed on my system before I got Creative Cloud. It would always update Acrobat as it stood, but never replaced it with the 64-bit version or gave me the option to.

Uninstalling it completely and reinstalling through CC worked. Thanks.
