I have created multiple packages with the Creative Cloud Packager and everytime i try to deploy the software it will kill explorer.exe and not progress any further. No error messages are shown.

OS: Windows 10

Adobe Creative Cloud 4.8.1.435

With Process Monitor I captured the command that close explorer.exe. It happens when the setup.exe tries to install CoreSyncCustomHook with the command:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CoreSyncExtension\customhook\CoreSyncCustomHook.exe" "--install=C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe" --component=CoreSyncExtension --mode=install

If you try to execute that command you will see the exact behavior that happens during the installation!

Unfortunately I think it's "hard coded" inside the setup process so you can't modify it....

Please check your:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\CoreSyncInstall.log"

We have reported this to the engineering and they are working on it. They are working on updating the CoreSyncExtension with the fix to this issue. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. I will update the thread as soon as I will have more information on this.

Thanks,

Hi,

Windows 10 X64

Adobe Creative Cloud 4.8.1.435

I am seeing exactly the same issue for any application created via the cloud website package \ templates section.

Explorer is closed and not reopened during installation via Configuration Manager.

Could we please have an ETA on the fix, this is preventing us deploying all Adobe Cloud applications.

Thank you.

Hi Everyone,

We highly regret the inconvenience caused to you.

Seems like you are using an old version of creative cloud packager, please download the latest version from this link and install it.

https://www.adobe.com/go/ccp_installer_osx

https://downloads.acp.adobeoobe.com/ccp-1.13.0/CreativeCloudPackager.zip

Then create a new package and deploy it.

Wow, more nothing from Adobe.  That download link is for the exact same version I am currently using.   Swing and a miss.

Did you find a solution to this problem?  I've seen a couple similar reports in the forums, and can confirm explorer.exe is killed (and does not consistently, and in a timely fashion, successfully restart) on Win7 installs of Creative Cloud applications in our environment.  The installation does succeed and I have found no errors logged in the Adobe install logs, or system event logs.

Nope, no solution i just ended up running the installs manually as we only had 15 users with the software.  A newer version of the packager has been released and i tested Adobe InDesign via this and appeared to work without issue.  Possibly the issue has been resolved but cannot say for sure until i try to package a few more apps with it.
