Device license machine names in Admin Console

Is there any documentation on how to get better control over how machine names appear in the list? I'm working with iMac systems mostly, with current MacOS installations, joined to a Microsoft Active Directory (AD) domain. I usually set the machine name in the System Preferences, Sharing control panel, and they appear consistently in AD. But there is much less consistency over how machine names end up appearing in the Adobe CC Admin Console. Sometimes, not often, a name completely different from what I assigned. I only know it's the machine in mind because it just showed up in the CC Console.
