Exchange 2010 is not detecting .pdf files via OWA and Outlook post installation of Adobe ifilter 11

Hi All,

A very good day. We had installed the Adobe ifilter 11 on our Exchange 2010 lab server. I followed the instructions as per the below link by adobe. But my .pdf the content / word in the pdf file does not get detected both in OWA and Outlook.

Any assistance will really be appreciated.

Hi All,

I have identified the issue. The issue is that i had upgraded the IFilter 9 to 11. So i feel this will not work.

So i uninstalled Ifilter 11 then removed the location from Path from Environmental variability, Rebooted the Exchange 2010 SP3 Server.

Then i performed a clean installation and it worked.

So what i understand is Upgrade is not supported. Uninstalling 9 and then rebooting and then Installing 11 works.
