Files lost during licence owner name change

Our school "Adobe for Teams" account was recently renewed for another year but the name of the school was changed during the process. After renewal, the first time I started Lightroom all my files deleted during the intial sync. All Adobe Cloud (Premiere Rush) and Lightroom files are now gone. I have only ever had one account and I can still login with the same email address which has a valid Adobe Teams licence, but 2 years of photos and video are missing.

My system admin tells me that Adobe provided no warning that this was going happen and therefore my files are gone for good. I find this hard to believe. I've checked my deleted items and searched other posts here for help with no success.

Can anyone suggest if there is any way to try to retrieve my files? Thanks in advance for any advice.
