How are updates handled in Creative Cloud Enterprise

Question

I am looking to find out how patches a software updates are done in Creative Cloud Enterprise edition. The packet I created for our end users blocks them from installing any apps on their own. If Adobe releases a patch or security update to the software, will the update happen automatically, would the user have to install it, or is it distributed from the subscription management console? If it is automatic, can it be controlled so that updates can be tested before they are distributed throughout our production environment?

We have followed this example, but can't get it to work properly. After the file is put to it's location, we have logout of CC. Restarted and login again. The updates comes right in my face!

Any ideas? We are on macOS 10.12.6 and 10.13.1.
