I need to install an older version of photoshop and illustrator. That option is now gone from the Creative Cloud app.

Same here, I need to install Photoshop 2022 on my 2014 27” imac that is well capable of running it. Yet there is no option to do it and I’m let without photoshop, while I PAY for it. This is unacceptable. We can’t all afford newer computers.

You could try OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP). It lets you install newer versions of macOS on officially unsupported Macs, which would then allow you to run the latest version of Photoshop.

I haven’t used OCLP myself, and feedback from people who have is mixed — the installation process can be not exactly user-friendly, and performance isn’t always ideal. Still, this option does exist.

If you decide to try it, install the new system on a separate volume (or external drive). Don’t overwrite your current working system.

Go to your Preferences in Creative Cloud Desktop App.

Avatar => Preferences

Under Apps => Settings, enable the option to Show Older Apps. See screenshot.

If that option is not available in your version, you likely have a Teams or Enterprise plan in which case you need to contact your IT dept for older versions.
