I received an Adobe grant for one free year of CC. My CC has expired and now my CS6 licensed software will not open. How can I active my CS6 again?

Please uninstall creative cloud Desktop application and all creative cloud applications installed.

Uninstall or remove Adobe Creative Cloud apps

Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application

then perform the following steps

for Mac

1) Navigate to following location /Library/application support/adobe and Delete Slstore and slcache .

2) Navigate to ~/Library/application support /adobe/oobe and delete opm.db

3) launch CS6 application and activate using serial key.

For Windows

1) rename SLstore to Slstore.old at following location c://program data/Adobe/

2) Rename SLcache to Slcache.old at following location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe

3) Navigate to c://users/username/appdata/local/adobe/oobe  and rename Opm.db to opm.old

4) launch CS6 application and activate using serial key.
