Illustrator 2019

Hi,

We have creative cloud installed on our clients using a AUSST server for internal storage and we notice a lot of users having more than one version of illustrator installed 2019, 2020 and now 2021. To centrally manage this we would like to uninstall the older, obsolete versions by remote command and remote update manager seems to be incapable of doing this, it only installs the latest version (mostly) but the old version stays.

Are there remote uninstall commands we can send out via SCCM to uninstall the older versions?

Hello Matt,

You can use the creative cloud packager to create the uninstall package and then you can use the same on multiple machines.

Download the packager

Hope this helps.

I should add a little bit more clarification: for Office apps, using only the latest is normally a happy choice for the end user, so it is natural to want to clean up old versions. But this is not the case for Creative Cloud. The worst case is probably InDesign, which cannot collaborate between versions or save to an old format.

It would generally be recommended to all users that they keep multiple versions. Old versions are not necessary obsolete; old versions may include features still used, or people may be cautious about upgrading until completing tests. Certainly, forced version upgrades may cause pain and frustration. So... why not leave the old versions?
