Inquiry about CCE - Federated ID & Business ID

For enterprise customers, we offer several Identity types to choose from. Details in the Understand Identity article.

To answer your questions:

1. Adobe IDs and Business IDs are mutually exclusive. If your organization has been upgraded to Adobe storage for business, Adobe ID users are migrated to Business IDs as part of the upgrade. Orgs with Storage for business do not support Adobe IDs.
2.  You can use Business IDs, Enterprise IDs, and Federated IDs at the same time. The setup for Enterprise ID and Federated IDs domains will determine the ID type for those users being added.
3. Switching to/from Business IDs is not yet supported. You may have to manually delete users, reclaim their assests, and then recreate the users with a new ID type. If you're planning to move to SSO/Enterprise IDs, I'd suggest you do it before your org is upgraded. And then remove any Adobe ID users.
4. If you remove the SSO/Federated ID or Enterprise ID setups, all new users will be created as Business IDs. Again existing users will be removed and users will lose access to apps, services, and their assets.

I'd recommend you plan out what you'd like to achieve and then we can provide the proper guidance. You can also contact Support via the Admin Console and they'll also be able to guide you based on your unique circumstances.

Do note that with Business IDs, some users will have personal profiles, in addition to the Business Profile. At sign-in they may need to select a profile.
