Installed x64 iFilter on Windows Server 2008, but it's not indexing

It appears to only be indexing the contents of documents that have been added after installation of the iFilter. It does not appear to be indexing documents that were already on the server prior to installing the iFilter. Do I need to delete and rebuild the search index after installing iFilter? Can anyone confirm that for me?

Yes,  that would be true for any snap in that you added to the Windows Search Service.
