Is there any way to turn off AI features in all adobe apps without making them avaiable to the user?

Hi everbody,

I got a bit of a hard question here:

I supervise alot of imacs at my school and I got asked whether it was possible to turn off all AI features from the various adobe apps and to not make them avaiable to the users, so to be unable to turn them on again by simply going in the options.

Thanks in advance

yeah unfortunately I had to use a personal account to post because the k12 one I have is bugged and I can't post on adobe community. I am not currently an adobe admin but at my school as far as I know we're using a k12 plan for students/teachers operating on iMac m1 24" 2021 and iMac retina 5k 27-inch 2017

I am looking to disable ai generative features on ALL adobe apps, not only acrobat. Every app on our k12 plan

Hi @cristiano_8203,

Thank you for letting me know.

In this case, I would recommend reaching out to your IT administrator, as only they have access to the Admin Console and can open a support case on your behalf. You can refer to the following article for guidance on how to contact your administrator:

If you can't find your administrator’s contact details in the Notes section, feel free to send me your email address via private message, and I’ll do my best to assist you further.

Regards,

Hi @cristiano_8203,

Thank you for reaching out.

Based on your query, I understand that you would like to disable all generative AI features across Adobe applications for users in your organization, ensuring they are not available and cannot be re-enabled through settings. Please confirm if this is the support you are seeking.

I’ve checked on our end, and I am unable to locate an active subscription associated with the Adobe ID used to submit this request. Could you please share the Adobe ID linked to your active contract with me via a private message? This will help me assist you more effectively. You can refer to this guide on how to send a private message:
https://adobe.ly/4lp9ToO

At this time, the Adobe Admin Console does not offer a built-in feature to globally disable generative AI across all apps for all users.

If you are looking to disable generative AI features specifically in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader desktop, please refer to the following guide:
https://adobe.ly/4lyJDIA

To disable the AI Assistant in Acrobat on Windows devices, you can use the following registry key on each device:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown
bEnableGentech = 0

If you are an administrator and would like to request broader deactivation of generative AI features for your organization, please contact Adobe Customer Care directly.

For organizations with an active Teams or Enterprise contract, we recommend opening a support case via the Admin Console:
https://adobe.ly/3Gbq6xS

Let me know if you have any questions or need further help.

Regards,
^AN
