Question

Libraries won't load in apps

Since last week all of my Adobe apps stopped loading any of my library assets and they just say every subfolder is empty (see attached) this is accross ALL of our brand libraries and a huge issue as thats where all our assets are stored.

I checked chrome libraries and the assets are still there so the issue is creative cloud not talking to photoshop and illustrator, even though it says "all up to date" when i hover over the cloud

Hi @Radiant_goalce1d,

Sorry for the troubled experience. And thank you for the detail, and for confirming you have seen this too, that helps since it points to a reproducible pattern rather than a one off glitch.

Before trying the steps below, two quick precautions. Since the item you added has been stuck for two days, it may not have finished uploading to the cloud yet, so if you have the original file, keep a separate copy of it outside the Library for now, just in case. Also, the fix requires closing all Adobe apps that use Libraries, so please save any open work first.

This matches a known Libraries panel loading issue, and the fix path is well documented:

  • Close all Adobe apps that use Libraries, open Creative Cloud desktop, then press Ctrl + Alt + R (Windows) to force a full relaunch of Creative Cloud and its supporting processes, including Libraries. Reopen your app afterward.
  • Check for a pending Creative Cloud desktop update first, Help, Check for Updates, since an outdated client is a common trigger.
  • If the panel still does not load, clear the local Libraries cache: close all Adobe apps, navigate to C:\Users[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe, delete the Creative Cloud Libraries folder, then relaunch.

Full steps, including hosts file and proxy checks if the above does not resolve it: What to do when the Creative Cloud Libraries panel doesn't load.

A couple of things that will help us confirm this is fully resolved rather than just temporarily cleared:

  • Does the relaunch (Ctrl + Alt + R) bring the library back to its correct state, or does the new asset still show stuck adding after that?
  • Is this on one machine or multiple, and is it the same library failing to sync for both of you, or two separate libraries with the same symptom?

Let us know how it goes after the relaunch and cache clear.

Thanks,
Tariq

Hi @Andreas28059408tjbp,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you're experiencing issues with Libraries not loading in Photoshop and Illustrator. Please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Sign Out and Sign Back In

  • Sign out of your Adobe Creative Cloud account.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Sign back in to refresh the connection, as this can sometimes resolve syncing issues.

Relaunch the CCLibrary Process

  • Close all Adobe applications that use Libraries (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Open the Creative Cloud Desktop App.
  • Use the following keyboard shortcut to relaunch Creative Cloud and its support processes, including CCLibraries:
    • Windows: Press Ctrl + Alt + R
    • Mac: Press Cmd + Opt + R
  • Once the app relaunches, restart Photoshop and Illustrator to check if the issue is resolved.

For additional guidance, refer to this article: Creative Cloud Libraries Panel Doesn't Load.

Check Your Internet Connection

  • Ensure that you have a stable internet connection, as syncing issues can sometimes be caused by network instability.
  • If possible, try switching to a different network (e.g., using mobile data or another Wi-Fi connection) to see if the Libraries load correctly.

Please note that Creative Cloud Synced Files have been discontinued for business plans, including Creative Cloud for Teams and Creative Cloud for Enterprise. This may impact file syncing between Creative Cloud and your applications. For more details, please review this article: End of Support for Creative Cloud Synced Files in Business Plans.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,
^AN

Hi, i have done all of these steps and my libraries are still not loading in ANY of my apps. This has absolutely destroyed my workflow for the last 2 weeks as all our brand assets are built into them.

"Please note that Creative Cloud Synced Files have been discontinued for business plans"

Could this be whats screwed up lbiraries, like a bug there thats stopping libraries syncing since im on a business account and misinterprretiung my CC library files as  cloud synced files? (i assume thats something different otherwise there is 0 reason to use adobe CC at all as a business without libraries)

For anyone who sees this forum post with same issue, this was the problem - adobe's unbelievable decision to take away cloud files has destroyed all exisiting libraries and i need to remake them from scratch, utterly mind boggling decision from a company this big and i wonder how many businesses have been screwed by this decision to squeeze an extra 1% profit margin...
