Move CEO’s paid Acrobat Pro from work ID to personal ID + assign org license, and disable cross-devi

Hi Adobe Community,

I need help with two items:

1) License move (work ID ↔ personal ID):

  • Current state: Our CEO has an individual Acrobat Pro subscription paid with his own card, and it’s attached to his work email (Adobe ID).

  • Goal:

    • Assign our organization’s (Teams/Enterprise) Acrobat Pro license to his work email via Admin Console.

  • Questions:

    • Can Adobe move/transfer the existing individual subscription from the work Adobe ID to the personal Adobe ID (without cancel/re-buy)?

    • Or do we need to change the Adobe ID email on the subscription via Support, or cancel and re-purchase under the personal email?

    • Any steps to preserve signatures/stamps/Acrobat settings/Sign data during this switch?

2) “Recent” files show across devices (cloud disabled):
We’ve disabled cloud storage and syncing for the org, but when signing into Acrobat/Adobe, the Recent list still shows files across devices.

  • How can we disable cross-device Recent entirely?

  • How do we clear any server-side Recent history for all users?

  • How can we hide/disable all cloud options so nothing is uploaded or listed, given data sensitivity?

Regards,

looking forward to your valuable feedback

Hi @mohammad_6657,

Thank you for reaching out.

You can assign your organization’s Acrobat Pro license to the CEO’s work email through the Adobe Admin Console. This is the standard process for Teams or Enterprise plans and can be done by selecting the user and updating their product access using Quick Assign, adding the user directly to the product profile, or using a bulk CSV import if preferred. For reference, please see the following document: https://adobe.ly/45MZ3SC

Regarding the question about transferring an individual Acrobat Pro subscription from a work Adobe ID to a personal Adobe ID, please review this document: https://adobe.ly/45UMHbe. If this does not address your specific case, we recommend contacting Adobe Support for assistance.

Files, preferences, and settings do not migrate automatically between different Adobe IDs. Adobe recommends exporting or downloading the necessary data from the source account and then importing or uploading it to the destination account after switching licenses. Please refer to this guide: https://adobe.ly/45yW41d.

If Acrobat Sign is being used, and the identity is moving to a different email address, you may update the email associated with the Sign profile. Sign data follows the Sign identity if the email change is eligible and the new email address is not already in use. See this document for details: https://adobe.ly/4n2HS6x

To hide or disable all cloud storage options for data sensitivity, create a managed package with the file syncing option disabled: https://adobe.ly/4mAAek7. In addition, blocking the following URLs via firewall will restrict access to Adobe Creative Cloud storage through a web browser:

We hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
