Moving from device license to named license - What to do with desktop app?

Question

If you create an uninstaller package for CC products, it does not uninstall the desktop app, and adobe advises that you don't uninstall it.

However, what if it is installed as a device license and now you need to install named license products?

Do you uninstall it, or just uninstall the products, leave the app, and deploy your named license package, installing a newer desktop app over the old? Does that work?

If not, I'd like to know how best to handle this transition.

If you are migrating from the device to named user license then once all the apps are removed, then you can deploy the named user license which will overwrite the settings and the users can sign in to the creative cloud desktop app to access it.
