Question

My Adobe university account (after graduation) has expired.

My Adobe account was active through my university, now that I have graduated, my account has expired. As of yesterday, I have been unable to access or use any of my Adobe applications.

I have been using this account extensively throughout my university years, and it contains my saved preferences, settings, files, and creative workflows that are important to my work. I am interested in purchasing a personal Creative Cloud Pro plan. I would like to know if it is possible to transfer my existing university account to a personal subscription while retaining/ restoring access to my current account without losing any of my data.

Could you please guide me through the process and thank you for your time and support. I look forward to hearing from you.

see if your school’s plan administrator can reinstate your school email temporarily while you transfer assets.

    Hi @aadyasarup,

Thank you for reaching out. We understand how stressful it is to lose access to your apps and the work saved with them.

Adobe Student File Transfer is the way to bring your files over to a personal Adobe account: https://filetransfer.adobe.com. You sign in with your school account and your personal Adobe account (you can create one there if you don’t have one yet), pick the files you want, and they’re copied across. The steps are here: https://helpx.adobe.com/business/education/student-accounts-files/using-student-file-transfer.html

A few things to keep in mind:

    • The service works with an active school account. Since yours has expired, please ask your school’s IT team or Adobe administrator whether it can be temporarily reactivated so you can copy your files.

    • Only files stored in the Adobe cloud are copied. Anything saved only on your computer won’t be included.

    • Personal accounts typically come with 5GB of storage. If your school files add up to more than that, you can choose which ones to copy, or add storage through an Adobe plan.

Could you let us know if you’re still able to sign in with your school account? Please share that and we’ll go from there.

    Thanks,
    ^AV
