Question

Purchased license legitimacy - access provided by the administrator in organization

Hi,

I recently purchased Adobe Photography plan 20 GB for 1 year. Instead of receiving license code for that plan I received email from Adobe with information that administrator in organization granted me access to single app plan: Photoshop and then for single app plan: Lightroom + 1 TB.

It wouldn't be suspicious to me if it was at a university or a company, but it's a normal purchase. It should work but is my license legitimate in this case?

Thanks

That seems fishy.

As suggested by John T Smith  , is the company on this list?

@John T Smith , @kglad  Yes, the store is listed as a certified reseller.

My concern is about the legitmacy of the license when it is sold this way.

I am not sharing the store name because I do not know if this method of selling licenses is allowed by Adobe and I would not like to mislead anyone if it is.

if the store is a legitimate vendor their licenses should be legitimate.  or equivilently, if the license isn't legitimate, the vendor isn't legitimate.

if you suspect the vendor is legimate and made an innocent error with your subscription, contact the vendor as already suggested by @Jeffrey_A_Wright

>some online store

What is the name of that store?

If that store is not an official Adobe sales partner you may be the victim of a scam

Forgot to add. Of course I didn't purchase directly from Adobe. It was some online store.

I understand, MK_121, that the account and subscription you used to post to this public discussion forum have been claimed by them. Please contact the seller of the service you purchased, if you have any additional questions about the service you have purchased and the associated restrictions. ^JW

Thanks for reply. I'm not sure what do you mean by "claimed by them". The account is mine and I use my personal email to login.

I just have doubts whether it is in accordance with the Adobe license terms and whether it is an acceptable way to acquire a license.

When logging in, there is a button "Join team" . I bought from the online store and I am their customer, not a member of their company or organization.

MK_121, thanks for your question. I don't show any individual memberships under the account you used to post to this public discussion forum. If you have chosen to purchase a managed plan from an organization, then you will want to inquire with them about any restrictions or limitations they have placed on your account.

If you wish to purchase your plan from Adobe directly, then see https://adobe.ly/425g5cO. ^JW
