Question about local hosting of “Kozuka Gothic Pro” (GDPR/DSGVO & licensing)
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a GDPR/DSGVO check for a client project and have a question about using Kozuka Gothic Pro from Adobe Fonts.
Right now, the font is embedded via Adobe Fonts (web integration/CDN), which means it's being loaded from Adobe’s servers. Since this involves transferring user IP addresses, we're trying to find a more privacy-compliant solution – ideally by hosting the font locally on our own servers.
That leads me to my main questions:
Is it possible to purchase a license for Kozuka Gothic Pro that allows local hosting (self-hosting)?
– And if so: Where can I get this kind of license? Directly from Adobe? Or is there a trusted third-party foundry/distributor?Has anyone here done this before with Kozuka Gothic Pro (or similar Adobe fonts)?
– Any tips or experiences with the licensing process or technical implementation?
For now, we’ll make sure to update our privacy policy and include the font usage in the cookie consent layer. But long term, we’d prefer a solution without external calls to third-party servers.
Thanks so much in advance – really appreciate any insights!
