Question

Reconstructing package settings from Build to AAMEE

Like many others here I am using AAMEE 3.1 to create packages using Creative Suite 6 and Technical Communication Suite based applications for Windows 7.

I've successfully created a Photoshop standalone package that can be deployed using Altiris CMS but realized that my AAMEE build was on a VM that I didn't snapshot again before rolling back to an earlier state.

In the documentation for AAMEE it states that there is an AAMEEPreferences XML based file that holds your settings in your %localappdata% folder.

However this doesn't seem to hold the product sub options.

So therefore I have a two point question:

  • The first is if the specific product sub options are stored in an XML file somewhere - e.g. Tech Comm Suite 4, select install all products except Adobe Presenter 8. Or, don't include additional Recommended Fonts for Captivate 6, etc.

  • The second part of the question is if there is an equivalent XML file stored somewhere within the Build directory structure that I can use to regenerate the selected options.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi,

The product options is not saved in AAMEEPreferences.xml. I dont think there is an easy way to regenerate the selected options. AAMEEPreferences.xml only saves the welcome input screen and configuration screen options of AAMEE 3.1.

    Thanks,
