Question

Reliable way of triggering the auto-update

Hello guys,
what I'm interested in is to see if there is any way to trigger the update process since the auto update seems to be running in rather random time intervals, e.g. if it found an update and shows it in the ACC updates tab it is not directly installed. Even after restarting the computer it may not be installed.
Now I tried to play around with RemoteUpdateManager and the setup.exe from update packages, but as I experienced it the updates do not get installed as long as an affected program is open/opened in the update process. Therefore I'd like to know if there is a trigger I can make use of, for the updates to start in AAC, so I could for example use that in a logonscript for the user, before they open whatever adobe product they use.
So far I've figured out that pressing the check for updates button in AAC can trigger an automatic update for available apps, after restarting the AdobeUpdateService but that also seems to be inconsistent and fiddly and since I can't guarantee every user pressing the check for updates button it would also be a quite unreliable. If you can somehow trigger the check for updates button from cmd or smth let me know either way!

Also: I'm currently looking into the automatic updates feature trying to KEEP them enabled for multiple systems, if the user (accidentally) turns it off and forgets to put it back on.
I found the preference file which I edited to turn the automatic updates option on.
Now I'm not sure if the changes in the .prefs file are applied the moment the file is saved, since I can only see the changes in the settings, after pressing the check for updates button. That I would like to know.
