Question

Remove choice at login for personal or company

When our users log in they are presented with a choice to select Personal or Company or school account. Also when users choose log in with Google, which is usually where we direct our students for most products, it automatically takes them to a personal account which doesn't have the purchased license and causes a lot of confusion.

It would be extremely helpful if there wass a setting in the admin console to turn off the personal account and automatically take all accounts into the company/school account for our whole organization.

Hi @Kurt28282259o11g,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback.

When users log in with an email address associated with both Adobe’s public identity system (Adobe ID) and an enterprise directory (Federated ID or Enterprise ID), Adobe prompts them to choose which profile to use. This behavior is by design to support users who may need access to both personal and organizational Adobe accounts.

At present, there is no option in the Admin Console to globally disable personal accounts or bypass the profile chooser for all users in an organization. However, we’ve noted your feedback and will share it with the appropriate product teams for consideration.

Adobe allows you to enable automatic profile selection to streamline sign-in. If you have both a Personal and Business Profile, turning on this setting  ensures you're automatically signed in to your Business Profile—avoiding the profile chooser. You can manage this setting by signing in at https://adobe.ly/4616veK, navigating to Account and security > Sign-in and security, and toggling "Select my profile automatically." We hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Hi,

Not sure if the instructions on the document is out of date or if there's a setting to not allow access to "Sign-in and security" but the only options under Account and Security are Account and Data and Privacy Settings. Screenshot attached.

Hi @Kurt28282259o11g,

Thanks for reaching out.

You're unable to see the "Sign-in and security" option because you're currently viewing settings under your work or school account (Enterprise or Federated ID).

As checked, your Adobe ID is associated with an enterprise subscription. The reason your users are prompted to choose between "Personal" and "Company or School Account" is because they may have previously created an Adobe ID (personal account) using the same email address on https://adobe.ly/40EnU9r or purchased an individual subscription. Please note that Adobe IDs created outside of the Admin Console are owned and managed by the user, not the organization.

To ensure users are signed directly into their Company/School (Federated) account and bypass the profile chooser, we recommend enabling Domain Enforcement for your organization. This feature allows system administrators to:

Block creation of new Adobe IDs using organization-owned domains

Prevent purchase of personal subscriptions using your organization's domain

Ensure users authenticate only through their Federated ID or Enterprise ID

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have further questons.
