Question

Removing old versions of Adobe CC apps in the Enterprise

For an enterprise user with named licenses what is the proper way to remove old versions of Adobe products?

Do you use the Adobe Creative Cloud packager and make uninstall packages or do you use the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool?

I was told by support that the packager isn't for named licenses is that true, as I've used it before at it worked fine.  I tried the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool and that's just a lot of hoops to go through.

Thank you for any advice on this or even on what is the best way to go about updating these apps.

Hello,

If the same version of apps are installed (like all apps are in 2018 or 2017) then you can create an uninstall package using the creative cloud packager for removing the apps: https://dazwallace.wordpress.com/2019/03/07/using-adobe-creative-cloud-packager-to-create-an-uninstaller-in-preparation-for-adobe-creative-cloud-2019-shared-device-license-deployment/

The creative cloud cleaner tool will also allow you to remove the installed apps. Here is the help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-for-enterprise-users.html

Thank you.  I guess I can still ise the Creative Cloud Packager to at least make uninstall packages.  Much easier than using the creative cloud cleaner tool.
