Question

Software restriction policies / Are .ps1 scripts running as part of the .msi install?

Hello,

Trying to install an .msi package that I created and cannot get beyond the software restriction policy detailed below. We have no blocks against .msi files but I think what might be going on is that unsigned .ps1 scripts are running as part of this installation and those I know we do block.

Is that the case? Are scripts within the .msi running as part of the installation?

Thanks,

Joe

Please check if you are able to install the package using the EXE file. Also, please share the behavior if you are installing the package using MSI but without any script.

Personally, I have not seen any issues with installing the package using the MSI file.
