Stop downloading Updates when Cloud Application closed

I find it extremely annoying that Adobe CC is resuming updates even after the app has been explicitily quit by the user.

Especially since you are not respecting the Windows setting for metered networks.

I've just paid a Gig of data to use while on the train on my laptop. I quit the CC app and it stopped download. As soon as I openened a PDF, the update service spins up again. By the time I could stop it via task manager (becasue there is no other way when CC is not running) it surged 600MB of my purchased data.

I find this practise extremely annoying and unrespectful.

If you want us to update, fine but

a) don't update while on metered network (Windows settings - works with Update, Chrome, Onedrive and many more)

b) allow us to limit bandwith

c) allow us to pause updates

Hello Daniel,

You can suppress the updates on your machine. You can use the steps mentioned in the below article.
Disable auto-updates

The AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat file you may have to copy to the desktop then make changes. For suppression, you can mention the number 1. Once done save the file. Delete the existing AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat file and place the new one at the same place.

If the file is not available you can try below steps:
1. Create a text file named AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
C:\Program files(x86)\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
<Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
2. Add the following lines to it:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<Preferences>
<Suppressed>1</Suppressed>
</Preferences>
3. Save the file

Thanks,
Nikhil Gupta

Go into your settings and on the General tab toggle OFF the "Always keep Creative Cloud up to date", and then go into the Apps tab and turn OFF the Auto-update for your applications.
