Hello,

The Unified Package Adobe Acrobat Pro X64 2025.001.20432 with Named User Licensing fails to function in offline or network-disconnected scenarios. Acrobat features are not availble network-disconnected mode on an Enteprise GFE environmant. This behaviour is also consistent on enterprise enviroement personal computer. Is this by desigen. Can someone reprocude this issue.

@31742925xbht don't quote me on this, if I can recall, your observation that this behaviour is consistent across both GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) and personal enterprise computers strongly suggests that this is indeed by design for certain Adobe Acrobat Pro licensing models, specifically "Named User Licensing" in an enterprise context. Adobe's "Named User Licensing" for Creative Cloud and Acrobat Pro is fundamentally designed to link the software's activation and feature access to a specific user's Adobe ID, which requires periodic validation with Adobe's servers. While Adobe does typically build in a grace period for temporary offline use (often 30-90 days, varying by product and policy), continuous offline functionality is usually not guaranteed or supported indefinitely for these cloud-connected licensing models. The software needs to "phone home" to verify the subscription status, ensure compliance, and unlock full features. In a highly controlled "Enterprise GFE environment," network restrictions or specific proxy/firewall configurations might further limit this communication, potentially shortening or eliminating the grace period for offline use, even if the general policy allows for it. This is a common design choice for cloud-based subscription software to manage licensing compliance and prevent unauthorized usage, though it can be a major hurdle for environments with limited or intermittent connectivity.

Thank you for detail explanation. There was a TYPO in my initial post "This behaviour is also consistent on enterprise enviroement personal computer. Is this by desigen" I meant to say "Non-enterprise environment personal computer". The following my test result:

1. Unified Package Adobe Acrobat Pro - for an enterprise and Non-enterprise enviroement there is grace period at all for temporary offline use. It is not 30-90 days pro feature are not avaialble after a few close and relaunch of adobe. Please test steps at the end of this post.

2. Non-Unified Package Adobe Acrobat works well right away both in enterprise and Non-enterprise environment in offline or network-disconnected mode.

Test steps for enterprise and Non-enterprise environmen

a. Launch Acrobat log in to acrobat with your account or if there is SSO it will take care of it.
b. While you are logged in you will see a green circle on the top right corner and when you hoover mouse you will see your credential.
c. While still logged in disconnect from the network including WIFI
d. Close Acrobat
e. Relaunch Acrobat (repeat step d and f until you see you are logged out from Adobe)
f. Now test Acrobat Pro functionality. It is not there anymore the product will Acrobat Reader.

PS:

Adobe Inc. assumes that both product to work in enterprise and Non-enterprise environment.

Adobe Inc. assumes that this problem might be attributed  to an enterprise specify environment where as it does not work in a non-enterprise environment. And also Non-Unified Package Adobe Acrobat works though in offline mode.
