Unable To Install acrobat 9.13 and 9.2 Update To 9.0 acrobat Pro

I have a system with Window 7 Pro (64-bits) and I was able to install Acrobat 9.0 Pro and install update 9.13 and 9.2 to my Acrobat 9.0 Pro (making it Acrobat 9.2).   No issue.

I created a virtual machine using VMware Workstation with a virtual Window 7 Pro (64-bits) Os (same as my host).   I was able to install Acrobat 9.0 Pro but when I tried to install my acrobat update 9.13 and 9.2, I get the following error message "The upgrade path can not be installed by the Window Installer Service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the updated path may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program to be upgraded exist on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade path". 

I checked where Acrobat was installed and its the same place as my host computer (which the updates did install).  How would I check the upgrade path with the downloaded updates ???

Can someone please help me with this issue of not updating !
