Question

Unable to patch acrobat standard 10.0.3 to 10.1.0

Hi

We're a bit behind with all our patching, but are trying to cath up.

I've managed to get WSUS to patch Adobe products (using Local Update Publisher) but I'm struggling with the patching of Acrobat Standard 10.

I can't get our installed version to patch from 10.0.3 to 10.1.0 (or any later updates).

10.0.3 was the last time any patches were slipstreamed into the installer and this was obviously a while ago.

I've now replaced the installer with a 10.0.0 version which patches up to 10.1.9 perfectly fine, but that doesn't really help me with the many installations of Acrobat 10 we already have through the business.

If I install 10.0.3 and then try to manually patch to 10.1.0, this also fails.

Does anyone know of a way (even manually) to force the 10.1.0 update onto these machines so that we don't have to remove and reinstall Acrobat on all of the devices?

Thanks

Matt

You used the term "slipstream".  That usually means you used an Administrative Installation Point a.k.a AIP.  Your option to update/patch is pretty limited with recreating another AIP/slipstream to the latest version.

1. This means you will need to uninstall the old AIP/slipstream first

msiexec.exe /x {Application GUID}

2. Reboot the machine preferably

3. Install the new AIP/slipstream

Thanks Sabian

This is what I was worried about.

I'll check with da management to see what they want to do.
