unable to uninstall 8.1

I'm trying my hardest to get rid of Adobe Acrobat reader 8.1 but for some reason the wizard keeps looking for the AcroStan.msi file which is not in the Setup Files share. I see that same file for 9.0 but not for 8.0 anywhere. Any ideas?

Look for "AcroStan" in the registry and either rename or remove it.

Find the section for the installer (in some cases it might be:  hkey_local_machine\software\classes\installer\products). Then delete the  entire section, which is the folder on the left side with a long  address like: 000102301239451294000000000000000fffffff000 or whichever.

I tested this and it works.
