Update Adobe CC 2018 Latest Version [April 2018]

Latest updates are not showing up on my Creative cloud app so I would like to know if my computer specs are preventing the update.

MacBook Pro (17-inch, Late 2011)

2.4 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1 GB

Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

Premiere Pro 12.0 is working fine as well as After Effects but I would like to update to the latest versions. I know a machine update will be needed but I would like to extend the life of a capable machine. It would be great if someone from Adobe could confirm that my machine is updatable.

Thanks

If that was the case, why would I be able to update on one machine and not the other? They used to deploy updates with custom update packages that had to be downloaded outside the desktop app environment. That has changed so that the user has control over the updates via the desktop app so that does not apply here.

Can you confirm that my machine specs meet the minimum installation requiremnts?

    Hi,

There is a file that IT admins can optionally include in a deployment with a flag that can be set to block updates, as noted in the article I referenced. That file could still be present from a previous deployment - the path is /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat

Even in a scenario where the Desktop App has been deployed with elevated privileges this file would still block updates.

If you don't have the file then that is not the issue.

The Premiere system requirements are here. Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements

    - from what you list you meet the minimum as far as I can see.

Yes I've done that and a host of other suggested fixes all through the forum. I am on an Enterprise version of CC and I am able to update on my iMac but not on the laptop. I had to update to 10.13 before I could update to PrPro 12.0 and everything is running fine. I've run out of possible barriers so that's why I wonder if Adobe raised the minimum specs on Macs for the update. They don't normally do that for a mid-verson update but that could be the case here.
