Updating Cloud at 0%

When using creative cloud, it is permanently stuck updating at 0% and the 'sign out' button is greyed out, blocking any other content being downloaded. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times with no changing results. When I click the repair option, it gives me error 81: another installer is running, despite having no other installers running after checking activity monitor. Any help is appreciated, I'm pretty desperate.

If it helps, I'm on a macbook with catalina 10.15.7

Uptade: I manage to run the repair function, but had no success: after reoppening the app the loading bar was still there.
