Updating Reader from 11.0.03 to 11.0.10 via GPO

Question

I have created the AIP and used the Customization XI Tool to repackage and apply the 11.0.10 patch, but whenever I test the msi locally I get an error message that "Another Version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel".

Shouldn't the Installer go over the previous 11.0.03 installation?

I will be deploying this MSI through a GPO.

Any help will be appreciated.

Theoretically "yes" it should however, it appears that something is awry with the AIP because the Update's installation validation is failing. Do you create log files with you installation patches? If not, that might be the next troubleshooting step.
