I wouldn't understand that neither, if I would not know how the licences work.

These are the basic rules:

  1. For each distinct user, you need to have acquired one licence. So, 5 users, 5 licences.
  2. Each user can have up to two computers activated.
  3. Each user is entitled to use the application concurrently on one computer.
  4. If the user needs to use the application on a third computer, he/she needs to disable one of the two others. That activation/deactivation task is reversible. I have multiple computers and activate those I currently use.

The assigned administrators control, who gets assigned a licence. That is done via the admin console: https://adminconsole.adobe.com. Administrators can add new licences if needed, and they can diminish the number of licences during the renewal period if wished. Subscriptions are annual and renew at the anniversary date. Licences added during the year also renew at that anniversary, their fee is pro rata for the remaining period.

BTW: Administrators can be users of the products, but they do not need to be. I'm the contract owner in my company, so I'm the main administrator of our Creative Cloud subscriptions, we have 5 administrators (mostly all IT, managing installations and troubleshooting) and one of the administrators is also a product user.

Each user can use the software at the same time, on just one computer each.

Notes: 1. each "user" must be a person, not a role. The license cannot be shared between two people, even if they never work at the same time, even if they share a computer. 2. If one person needs to use the app at the same time on two or more different computers, you need to give that person multiple IDs.

Hi Claudia,

For example, If a user has one Acrobat license, it cannot be shared with a second user. It can only be used individually on a single device at a time. But let us say if they want to share the license with another user to be used simultaneously, they would not be able to do so, as one license is limited to a single user. Hence he would have to purchase an additional license for the second user to use.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Claudia26678416tk7j ,

You would have to assign the product to the user via the Admin Console. For more information on assigning the license to the users, click here.

Hope this helps.

What sort of license did you pay for? Individual, student, Team or Enterprise?
