Question

W10 install not compatible MacOs isnatll failed

The International Guild of Knot Tyers has TWO charity licences[1] for Creative Cloud. For several years, I do not know how many, Creative Cloud (CC) has been used to produce our magazine.

I have agreed to join the NEW editorial team and will and am required to edit the drafts of the magazine.

The app works on my iPhone and I can comment using a web browser[2] however I am aged and my sight is far from how it was even 10 years ago and the web variant neither allows me to download the file as a PDF nor to print it directly[3], nor have I found a method of removing the comments so that I CAN at least see and print it

I therefore had planned to install CC on my MacBook have come into the FREE use ‘is it free or not’ issue[4] the CC and attempted installation failed when the installer assumed that KeyChain  was in  use; it recovered but even failed when I entered the MacOS password going back to key chain

And the final insult I can no longer log into the Adobe site now. no account associated with this address

And I have to add my comments BY 4th Feb

The best solution for me would be to use the web app[5] and to be able to print it[6]

Problems (now passed by)

I installed CC to my W10 tower however InDD (which I believe I require to e.g. comment) indicated that my 64 bit install of W10 is not compatible

[1] Which I believe allows them support other than Community?

[2] And it is possible to comment mark-up etc with that but difficult to read, cannot dowload nor print

[3] I am unable to hide others comments to enlarge the type and my print app is limited to printing the first i.e. visible page (It is only the visual of an/the app running on a server such that it cane also not save it as a PDF as only saves the one page)

[4] Adobe say elsewhere that the app(s) can be downloaded and used free of charge however I have not been able to do so getting passed the 14 days free trial where you will charge so …

[5] No app on any of MT devices

[6] could at least THAT be enabled?

@rnorman345 It seems a licensing issue if you are unable to access the online services.

If you are getting the license from your organization, kindly contact them and check if the entitlement is still added to your account.

The creative cloud offers 7 days trial if you are using an account for the first time and there is no option to exceed the time limit.

I am unable to find any active subscription under the account that you have used to post this query. Also, confirm if you are trying to access InDesign for sharing and review or Acrobat just for commenting on the files.

Kindly make sure to keep your operating system up to date if you are trying to install the latest version of any CC apps.

Hi TechBurner,

Many thanks for that.

I am quite happy being invited and to use the web app to add my comments  - that works well as does the app on my iPhone BUT I would like to print (on paper) the item that I am reviewing before I add my comments.

Before this I no longer had any Adobe apps on any of my machines. I now have CC on my phone and today, after earlier advice on this community, Acrobat for 7 days; I did not want Creative Cloud nor Acrobat and I would not have even tried apart from the fact that I have taken on this voluntary task for an international group of which I am a member.

I believe that CC is new to 3 of the 4 of us and only 1 of us has had previous experience/involvement however only TWO of we four need to use CC  - which is paid for by the charity  (on whatever you call the licence – we have two  x two user licences I believe)

My W10 is up to date however I have a very cut down version (can explain if you need/wish)

My MacBook is supported (not break out) and is also up to date I simply do not use the KeyChain function.

(1) Yes, please explain (in outline "cut down"). Since the message says your system is not compatible, this must be looked at closely.

(2) Also please tell us the actual version of Windows. Please don't just say "latest" or "up to date" since a very common problem is failed or missing updates. If you don't know how to check, please say so we can point you in the right direction.

(3) You have said "the app" several times but not told us WHICH app. Please be detailed.

Hi, @rnorman345 seems like you only need to work with PDF, so I would recommend you install Acrobat instead of installing Creative Cloud. Acrobat standalone can be installed on a machine.

Direct download link- https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Hi Ashish,

Many thanks for this and I have installed Acrobat as advised but as TechBurner says that is free only for 7 days. ‘and there is no option to exceed the time limit’

Please also see my reply to him for other matters.

Many thanks again

@rnorman345 how are you installing on your computers? Are you downloading and using the CC Desktop Tool?

Hi Kevin

Yes BUT My W10 is a very cut down version (can explain if you need/wish)

So it simply will not run on either of my W10 PCs 😊

Thanks again

Also - you've said there is a message, saying it's not compatible with your version of Windows - but you haven't told us the actual version of Windows 10 so we can check...!

I believe that the incompatibility is due to my W10 being a cut down version (can explain if you need/wish)

It is Edition     Windows 10 Pro  Version       21H2  Installed on      ‎05/‎04/‎2022  OS build 19044.2486  Experience            Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0

Hi @rnorman345 is this an enteprise or teams account? If not your best option is to log into Adobe.com and go to this page
https://www.adobe.com/about-adobe/contact.html

a chat bubble will be in the lower right corner. Open and type AGENT to get a person to assist with your account specifically. You do need to be able to log in to access this on the webpage, but it sounds like you can do that based on your comments.
